Surf/Punk/Reggae act Slightly Stoopid have been one of the top 50 touring acts in the country and have joined the stage with such bands as Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, and G. Love and Special Sauce. Don’t miss their upcoming show at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre on August 31st.
With nods to the Velvet Underground and Iggy and Stooges, Darker My Love has crafted a sound that is quickly gaining a rabid following among alternative rock fans. They hit the Northeast this weekend with shows tonight at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, the Mercury Lounge in New York Saturday, and Middle East Downstairs in Cambridge Sunday.
With a slightly heavier sound than some of their more recognized contemporaries, such as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and the Dandy Warhols, Darker My Love reminds me a bit of Tall Birds, which in my eyes or more accurately ears is good company.
